Clay Work
Each piece is individually hand formed from red terra cotta clay which contains grog, ground bits of previously fired clay, which lends a rich texture to the piece. The pieces are made by draping slabs of clay to form bag-like shapes, then they are fired, stained with an oxide to give it the look of well worn leather and refired.
Some pieces are embellished with an underglaze which lends color to the piece without compromising the textural quality of the clay.
